Six Flags Logo 2 (Large)The biggest regional theme park company in the world is Six Flags. There are 2 Six Flags parks in California. One is the flagship in the Six Flags chain and holds the record of most roller coasters in a single park and is located in Valencia, Six Flags Magic Mountain that is. The other one is located in Vallejo, and is America’s only wildlife, marine-life,  and rides theme park in the US, and is named Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. Six Flags Magic Mountain opened on Memorial Day weekend on May 30, 1971 as Magic Mountain, by the Newhall Land and Farming Company. In 1979, Six Flags purchased the park and added the name Six Flags to the park’s title. Six Flags Magic Mountain is one of world’s largest amusement parks and is a park of 260 acres. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is formerly known as Six Flags Marine World, Marine World, The New Marine World Theme Park, and Marine World Africa USA, and is a 135 acres theme park. The park includes a variety of roller coasters and other amusement rides, along with a collection of animal exhibits and shows. It has been part of the Six Flags chain of amusement parks since 1999.
