Byron: We were able to check out the progress of Railblazer at California’s Great America last weekend. Below we will outline the progress made thus far. Although the construction is somewhat limited at this stage, we figure we should start covering this very exciting project early. Please enjoy the first of many Railblazer construction updates. Alexander: We’ve got a BIG one today, folks. One of the world’s largest regional parks is our oyster today: it’s Canada’s Wonderland!
It’s a Saturday, but we have guidance from locals and FastLanePlus! Let’s see how this 15-credit-saga unfolds.
The most haunting Halloween event in Southern California, Knott’s Scary Farm, returns with unimaginable scares and innovative thrills for its 45th season. The fully transformed park will feature 13 uniquely haunted mazes and attractions, including the return of Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, for her last performance as she bids farewell to the Scary Farm crowds with an all-new show. Knott’s Scary Farm is back for 25 horrifying nights from September 21 – October 31. This year’s Knott’s Scary Farm experience has all the ingredients of a truly terrifying nightmare, but unlike most dreams, Knott’s Scary Farm is a nightmare you can’t wake up from. Knott’s Berry Farm will welcome HangTime, a brand new steel rollercoaster – and the only dive coaster on the West Coast – to the theme park in the 2018 summer season. HangTime will tower 150 feet over the Boardwalk area, showcasing gravity-defying inversions, mid-air suspensions and twisting dive tracks. California’s Great America will introduce a groundbreaking new single rail steel coaster, RailBlazer, for the 2018 season. RailBlazer will be the first coaster of its kind on the West Coast featuring a single rail track throughout; the design requires the rider to straddle the rail, creating an extremely low center of gravity that amplifies every move and enables more dynamic turns and rotations than have ever been possible on a coaster. With an eight-passenger single file train hugging the rail, the coaster will give riders an unobstructed view of the ground and air as they speed smoothly over the twisting track. Byron: California’s Great America has begun hiring for their 10th season of Halloween Haunt. As someone who has worked as talent at the park before, it’s a great part time job that pays well and is a whole lot of fun. If you have any questions about my experience, feel free to reach out. Otherwise, check out some additional information released by the park below. Continue reading “Halloween Haunt Hiring”
Sean: The third park on our 10-park tour was the Cedar Fair property with three inverted coasters! (Sadly Possessed was closed all day). This regional amusement park was nothing to write home about… but it DOES have a very fun collection of rides we hold very dear, including Stinger and Demon Drop! Let’s find out what else makes this park so unique! Continue reading “Dorney Park – CCK & CCCK Take the Northeast – Pt. 3”
Alexander: Here at CCK & CCCK, we spend a lot of time focusing on Southern California. This year we’ve expanded our focus to include parks across the country and around the world – but this week we return to our roots for bring you an update from, not Southern California, but the road-slightly-less-traveled-as-of-late, Northern California.
Byron: The Northern California theme parks have undergone some pretty significant changes, and in this article we aim to address the goings on at California’s Great America and Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. With the opening of a new exciting ride behind us and the announcement of another in the near future, there’s a good bit of ground to cover so let’s get started. Sean: It was time to spend a full day at California’s Great America again, it has certainly been a while, so instead of writing a general park update, we combine park update aspects with a bit more of a trip report approach, telling you a bit about our excellent experience at the park!
